We are looking for a self-starter with strong communication skills who is eager to learn and take on new responsibilities as needed, for a 30 hour/week position. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment and has a desire to play a key role in the overall success of the product. The role provides critical support for Launchpad, the only pre-loaded tablet designed specifically for circulation environments. Launchpad supports libraries’ mission of equal access by closing the “app gap,” and providing access to quality app content to library patrons who may not otherwise be able to share in the wealth of digital content now available. The Acquisitions Coordinator plays a crucial role in ongoing content releases by:· Sourcing new educational apps· Developing partner relationships with app developers· Securing contracts for app distribution· Onboarding new partners· Reviewing apps for quality· Managing metadataRESPONSIBILITIES: Independently research app developers, using a variety of sourcesDevelop and maintain active developer pipeline, with detailed tracking of prospectsIdentify appropriate app developer contactsPresent Launchpad distribution opportunity and generate interest from developersWith oversight, manage contract negotiation and redlinesGuide developers in completion of metadataManage asset collection & necessary app updatesAssist Content Coordinator in editorial review of new appsIdentify target audience for apps QualificationsA self-directed, self starter with high energy that has a high degree of accountability Ability to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong written and verbal communication skillsHighly organized and attentive to detailProven success in managing projects, process, and associated tasksUnderstanding of and comfort with ExcelBasic technical understanding of mobile apps & devicesInterest in children's educational content, is a plus.
